2019/2020 Tryouts

American Freedom 18A - Balbin is looking for talented outfielders and short-stops who have a competitive edge and passion for the game.

We will be having tryouts on Monday, July 8 at 6pm at D'Evelyn High School, 10359 W Nassau Avenue, Denver, CO 80235.

2019 Outfielder Annie Rourke Commits to Cedarville University

American Freedom  Balbin's (Colorado) Annie Rourke has committed to Cedarville University's Coach  Wes Rowe and the Yellowjackets. 

Wes Rowe has been the head softball coach at Cedarville University since 2008.  Rowe’s methodical rebuilding campaign has produced an average of 28 victories per year. The Lady Jackets have registered school-record 35-win efforts in 2012, 2014, and 2015 and six 30-win seasons in all.

Cedarville garnered back-to-back Great Midwest Athletic Conference regular season titles in both 2017 and 2018 thus earning the league’s top seed in the post-season. The Jackets are a three-time runner-up of the G-MAC Tournament in 2013, 2015, and 2016.

Rowe guided Cedarville to NCCAA Midwest Region championships in 2011, 2012, and 2017. His team has made five national tournament appearances in all.

Cedarville University is a DII University that competes in the Great Midwest  Athletic Conference.   CU is located in Cedarville, Ohio.

American Freedom  Balbin's (Colorado) Taylor Schleisman has committed to Arizona Christian University's Coach  Anna Welsh and the Firestorm. 

Coach Welsh is in her first season leading the Firestorm.  Welsh comes to ACU with an impressive 16 years of coaching that includes 596 wins and a 71.5 winning percentage.

The last six years, Welsh was the head coach at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL.  After beginning the SEU softball program in 2013, Coach Welsh guided the Fire to four straight NAIA National tournament appearances including the NAIA World Series in 2016.  The Fire produced 24 All-Sun Conference First Team players, 4 NAIA All-Americans, and 16 Academic All-Sun Conference members under the watchful eye of Welsh.

Arizona Christian University is an NAIA four year institution that competes in the Golden State Athletic Conference.   ACU is located in Phoenix, AZ.
