AF Gold Defends Title in AF Fall Invite

The American Freedom Gold (#69) defended its title, going undefeated in the 3rd Annual American Freedom Fall InvitationalThe AF Gold defeated the Kansas Renegades Gold 3-1 to advance a 2 p.m. championship game, where the Hit-A-Way Gold forfeited.

The CF Intruders Gold (#91) and KS Renegades Gold (#103) finished in third place.

Some early morning rain dampened the event, but more than 20 college coaches checked in to recruit the tournament, including seven Div. I programs. Most of the coaches were there all day as all games at the AF Fall Invite are played on the single, 4-field Allen Station Sports Complex.

The AF Fall Invitational again featured sixteen top regional teams with players from six different states, including Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

The American Freedom Gold took 13th place at PGF Platinum National Championships. The CF Intruders won the 2015 18u Open Colorado Fireworks Championship and 2015 Triple Crown Southwest National Championship

In addition, teams who participated in the regional Triple Crown Southwest Nationals included Texas Stix Gold (4th place), KS Renegades (9th), Mizuno Elite Gold (13th), Hit-A-Way (17th), 

The AF Fall Invite tournament format includes three, 1:40 hr pool game, seeding teams into a single-loss bracket on Sunday. Teams are guaranteed 5 games.

All games are played at the single, 4-field Allen Station Sports Complex in Allen, Texas, which is considered one of the best fastpitch-only complexes in the Southwest.

Registration for the 2016 American Freedom Fall Invitational will be posted shortly after the first of the year.

The American Freedom Fall Invitational is held annually in conjunction with the AF Fall Div. I & II College Clinic held at Premier Prospects Softball & Baseball Academy.at 825 E. Bus. SH 121, Lewisville, Tx.

This year's clinic featured 11 college coaches and only 50 players, in a 3 1/2 hour hitting clinic. College coaches incluced:

• Texas A&M - Corpus Christi
• University of Missouri - Kansas City
• University of North Texas
• University of Tulsa
• Arkansas Tech University
• Harding University
• Texas A&M - Commerce
• University of Colorado - Colorado Springs

• West Texas A&M University
